Position Summary

Lead the 2nd shift production team at a Rockford, IL metal finishing facility. Oversee plating/coating line operations, quality, safety, and personnel — ensuring daily production schedules, customer specifications, and operational targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct plating/coating line operations, throughput targets, on-time shipping
• Monitor line speeds, bath chemistry, process parameters for product quality
• Enforce EHS policies, PPE, lockout/tagout, chemical handling protocols
• Ensure plated parts meet ISO 9001 / AS9100 specifications
• Supervise, coach, and develop 2nd shift operators and line leads
• Drive shift performance: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost metrics
• Lead 5S, standard work, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED; Associate's or Bachelor's in technical discipline preferred
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience, 2+ in supervisory role
• Proven ability leading fast-paced production teams
• Strong safety, lockout/tagout, chemical handling knowledge
• Microsoft Office, ERP/MES, and shift reporting tools
• Excellent communication and coaching skills

Preferred

• Direct experience: electroplating, zinc/zinc-nickel, phosphate, e-coat
• IATF 16949, PPAP, control plans, customer-specific requirements
• Lean Manufacturing: 5S, kaizen, A3 problem solving
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
